Stephen Rose

Meet Stephen Rose

Financial Resource Development Consultant Stephen is a consultant to non-profit organizations, where he specializes in leadership and board development, strategic planning, intergenerational philanthropy, corporate relationships, and annual, capital and endowment campaigns. He is the Development Chair for the Hillels of Broward and Palm Beach Counties and a Board member of the Florida State Hillel Council. As the Associate Executive Vice President for Financial Resource Development of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, he established a new program of Total Financial Resource Development. He has attained the status of "Fellow" of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), the highest level of professional achievement in healthcare resource development and served as Treasurer and Board member of AHP. Rose has made presentations to professional conferences and organization boards throughout the United States focusing on capital and endowment fund development, foundation management and investments, major gifts campaign, intergenerational philanthropy, and "women and money."

Angelo Malahias

Meet Angelo Malahias

Financial Expert and former President of Andrx Corporation Angelo has extensive executive management experience in the Finance and Pharmaceutical industries, including 11 years with KPMG and CFO positions at Circa Pharmaceuticals and Andrx Corporation (now a wholly owned subsidiary of Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc.), where he also served as President. Among other credentials, Malahias earned his CPA in 1985 and qualified as an Audit Committee Financial Expert as defined by Sarbanes-Oxley Section 407. He is currently a Principal of DACKS, Inc., where he consults with CEOs and CFOs of private and public companies. He is also a Board member at Eurand N.V.

Susan Ervin

Meet Susan Ervin

Vice President for Development with The Everglades Foundation Susan is an accomplished development and external relations executive with more than 20 years experience in fundraising for nationally recognized health, education and arts institutions, including the University of Miami's Institute for Human Genomics and Miller School of Medicine, the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and the Miami Art Museum. Ervin has particular expertise in strategic planning, cultivation, personal solicitation, grant writing, stewardship, donor relations and special events, as evidenced by a solid track record of success in major gift development.

Dr. Randy Pohlman

Meet Dr. Randy Pohlman

Dean Emeritus and Professor of the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern Univerity Nova Southeastern University is the largest independent institution of higher education in the State of Florida and among the top six largest independent institutions nationally. Randy is an active presence in the South Florida community and served as a Trustee and Member of the Board of Governors for the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. He served as a member of the 2004 GMCC Cutting Edge Award Committee, and was Chief Judge for the 2002, 2003, and 2005 GMCC Cutting Edge Awards. Dr. Pohlman was on the Board of Governors and served as a Trustee for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Dr. Pohlman served on the Board of Directors as Lead Director and was Chairman of the Audit Committee for Clark Consulting (CLK/NYSE). He is also sought as a management consultant and advisor.

Frank Horkey

Meet Frank Horkey

CPA Managing Partner of Horkey and Associates Frank began his career at Touche Ross, (now Deloitte Touche) a "Big 4" international public accounting firm before founding his own firm. Horkey has taught courses on accounting, auditing, and taxation issues, and has published articles on a diverse array of tax, accounting, and auditing topics. He is a member of the Broward Workforce Development Board and Chair of its Audit Committee and also co-founder of the "One for the Kids" Program (a mentoring program that matches business people with students). Throughout his professional career, Horkey has been active in community education initiatives, including ten years as a member of the School Board of Broward County Audit Committee and three years as Chair of the Sunrise Chamber of Commerce Education Committee. He also served on the Broward Education Planning Initiative, which was the first countywide effort to address school overcrowding.

Paula Kim

Meet Paula Kim

Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Paula Kim, Inc., a global business consultancy. Paula brings more than 28 years of executive and entrepreneurial experience in business and not-for profit ventures. She is recognized on the grassroots, national, and international levels for her consumer-focused leadership, innovation in business and advocacy strategies, and for her ability to bridge gaps between sectors. Paula is a co-founder, and former CEO and Chair of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) where she led PanCAN's growth from a handful of online chat volunteers into an international resource for the pancreatic cancer community. In addition to her professional work, Paula Kim maintains longstanding commitments to community service with appointments at the National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute, the Food and Drug Administration, as well as with academic institutions, and organizations around the world.

Dr. Robert Plant

Meet Dr. Robert Plant

Computer Information Systems - Associate Professor University of Miami Dr. Robert Plant, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Information Systems at The University of Miami, and Research Director of The Intelligent Computer Systems Research Institute. Dr. Plant obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science at The University of Liverpool, England. Previously having studied Computation at The Programming Research Group, Oxford University, England, and Wadham College, Oxford. Dr. Plant writes for the Wall Street Journal and blogs for the Harvard Business Review. His research interests are in Strategy and Information Systems, Software Methodology and Artificial Intelligence, having recently published "The Disappearing Data Center" in Harvard Business Review and "When will you outgrow your data Center" in Harvard Business Review. He has also published over 60 articles in academic publications and at conferences around the world. Dr. Plant is a Chartered Engineer (U.K.), a European Engineer, and a Fellow of the British Computer Society.

Vice President of Human Resources at AeroTurbine, Inc. Tony is a seasoned business executive specializing in Human Resources. He has worked with many companies over the span of his career to increase their organizational effectiveness and capability through his ability to link a company's business strategy to their functional initiatives. Tregalia is regarded for his effectiveness in driving results through his passion for talent development, leadership coaching and leveraging best-in-class processes and technology. Tony has also served as an Executive Board Member for the Big Brother Big Sisters organization of Broward County Florida and Des Moines, Iowa.

Bryan Dennstedt

Meet Bryan Dennstedt

Chief Technology Officer at MDLIVE Bryan is currently the Chief Technology Officer at MDLIVE, the premier tele-medicine company backed by Sentara and Sutter health systems, including John Sculley (prior Apple CEO). At MDLIVE, Bryan is responsible for all technology operations, including product research and development, dev-ops, and the customer experience. Creating and building the team from seven to fifty plus team members with his vision and strategy took MDLIVE to the next level. Bryan created the full mobile strategy, while consolidating environments and setting the technology direction. He also plays a significant role in business development and strategic partnerships.
